3D Printing Solutions for Architects
Producing scale models using 3D printing eliminates the manual work of architects, designers, and model makers allowing them to devote more of their time to elaborating on concepts and polishing their final designs. Building scale models using 3D printing makes it possible to produce even the most intricate components down to 0.2mm details therefore enabling architects to perfectly realize their digital design in the real world even at the smallest of scales. Forge Labs specializes in architectural printing services directly from architectural drawings. This includes 2D to 3D file conversions or working directly from from pre-existing 3D Sketchup, AutoCad, and Revit files. By adjusting thicknesses, cropping out extraneous buildings, and ensuring the files are water-tight, we can turn around durable, error-free prints without re-inventing the wheel.

Scale Models
Highly Detail Scale Models in High Detail Resin, Plastic & Metal
Manufacturing architectural models with 3D printing allows designers to quickly craft and turnaround complex architectural models in a variety of resins and polymers suitable for trade shows, presentation centers and client presentations. Our fully digital architectural modeling process allows models to be easily modified, optimized and manufactured in less time whilst also providing exceptional accuracy, finish and detail than possible with traditional 3D printing methods. Features can be printed as thin as 0.7mm with details down to 0.2mm thereby allowing even the most intricate and complex designs to be easily realized in the real world.
We can work from CAD files or drawings in a number of different file formats including Revit and Sketchup and can provide exceptionally quick turnaround times. We utilize advanced 3D printing technologies include Selective Laser Sintering, Stereolithography and Direct Metal Laser Sintering to quickly craft highly complex architectural with ultra-fine details easily, and cost effectively directly from CAD files, Sketches, renders and 2D drawings.

3D Renderings
Digital Models & Visualizations
Digital rendering is the process of creating three-dimensional visuals showing the design of architectural projects to be built. It is widely used by architects and real estate professionals in presentations and marketing materials to create truly authentic looking 3D renders and visualizations. Digital renders are created by our team of in-house 3D artists using computer software. Rendering be either static or dynamic and accurately showcase the architecture itself as well as the buildings’ surroundings in photorealistic quality. Showcase all design options in full detail with finishes, materials, doors, windows, etc with our high detailed 3D renders.

Frequently Asked Questions
The ideal format would be STL or OBJ however we can work with a full range of native file types from Sketchup, Revit, Rhino and more.
Yes, we offer in-house modeling, 2D translation as well as rendering & architectural modeling services
The size and durability your model will require will determine what process is best. The most common material is Nylon PA12 via a Selective Laser Sintering process. This material offers an all around mix of strength, durability and surface finish. High detail parts are also made using Stereolithography in either a white or transparent resin. Our experienced sales team can make recommendations depending on your application.
Typical turnaround time of scale models is determined by the size of the model. Typically it is between 1 day for small models and up to 5 business days for lager table top displays. If you have an urgent project please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate your timeline.
We accept all projects small & large. Our minimum order starts at $50.00
