Material Overview

Accura 25 is a distinctive photopolymer resin used extensively in 3D printing, particularly stereolithography (SLA). It is renowned for its unique combination of flexibility and strength, which closely mimics the properties of polypropylene. Accura 25 is highly valued for its capacity to produce parts with fine details and an impressive surface finish, making it a preferred material for prototypes and functional parts requiring intricate designs and a high degree of accuracy.

Mechanical Properties

Accura 25 boasts a fine balance of strength and flexibility. It exhibits good elongation at break, meaning it can stretch to some extent before breaking, which is unusual for a rigid photopolymer. Its tensile strength is moderate, suitable for non-load bearing applications. The material's impact resistance is relatively high compared to other rigid photopolymers, making it suitable for functional prototypes and parts that may undergo minor stresses and impacts.

Chemical Compatibility

In terms of chemical compatibility, Accura 25 demonstrates moderate resistance to a range of chemicals, including oils, greases, and various solvents. However, it's not as resistant to harsh chemicals or prolonged exposure as some other materials like certain plastics or metals. This makes it suitable for use in environments with occasional exposure to mild chemicals but not advisable for prolonged contact with aggressive substances.

Thermal Properties

Accura 25 can withstand moderate temperatures but is not ideal for high-temperature applications. It maintains its properties and shape up to a certain point before heat begins to affect its structure, leading to deformation or a decrease in mechanical properties. This characteristic limits its use in high-temperature environments but is adequate for many common applications where extreme temperature resistance is not a primary requirement.

The applications of Accura 25 are diverse, particularly in rapid prototyping, where its balance of detail, strength, and flexibility is highly beneficial. It's commonly used in automotive design for producing detailed mock-ups, in consumer goods for prototyping intricate parts, and in medical modeling for creating accurate anatomical models. Its ability to simulate the look and feel of polypropylene makes it ideal for testing designs before committing to mass production with more expensive or complex materials.
