Material Overview

ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) was one of the first plastics to be used with industrial 3D printers via Fused Deposition and is still popular today due to its low cost and balanced mechanical properties. Known for its toughness and impact resistance, ABS is ideal for both prototyping & functional parts that will hold up to usage and wear such as manufacturing tools such as jigs and fixtures as well as end-use production parts.

All ABS parts are 3D printed using a soluble support material called SR-30. This soluble support material enables greater design freedom by completely eliminating the need for manual support removal, allowing for cleaner, smoother, and more accurate final parts.

Parts created using FDM are anisotropic as a result of the printing process and therefore mechanical properties as well as surface finish can vary depending on orientation. Unless otherwise requested, our technicians will select the most optimized print orientation for your design.
